Definition: Project-tied migrant workers
Category: Migration statistics - ILO
Project-tied migrant workers are migrant workers admitted to the State of employment for a defined period to work solely on a specific project carried out in that State by the migrant workers' employer. The employer is responsible for providing the inputs needed to complete the project, including labour. The employer or an agent who may have acted as an intermediary must ensure that Project-tied migrant workers leave the country of employment once the work is completed http://books.google.com/books?id=h7Pe-OaViAEC&pg=PA161&lpg=PA161&dq=%22guidelines+for+improving+data+collection+systems%22+%22international+migration+statistics%22&source=bl&ots=mo92iAWGNF&sig=GpEmg5yJVtC1B6JEOtN1ifGN9rI&hl=en&ei=XBgtStm6KsKY-gbLo73yCA&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=1#PPA2,M1
