Definition: Finished goods - inventories

Finished goods consist of goods produced as outputs that their producer does not intend to process further before supplying them to other institutional units (SNA 2008, § 10.142).

Inventories of finished goods consist of goods that are ready for sale or shipment by the producer but which are still held by the producer (SNA 1993, Annex to chapter XIII [10.111]).
