Definition: Asylum applicant

International Migration and Asylum

Person being a subject of the application for international protection as defined in Article 2(g) of Council Directive 2004/83/EC of 29 April 2004 on minimum standards for the qualification and status of third-country national or stateless persons as refugees or as persons who otherwise need international protection and content of the protection granted (Applications).

Person having submitted an application for international protection or having been included in such application as a family member during the reference period (Asylum applicants and decisions on asylum applications in Q4 2008).
