The set of activities of a single organisation which ensure that the activities of different members of the system meet the relevant quality standards. For NSIs (National Statistical Institutes), the coordination role ensures that all other national authorities which contribute to the development, production and dissemination of European statistics comply with the standards of the ESS (European Statistical System) and fulfill the quality requirements for European statistics.
