Definition: Seasonal population
The average number of persons staying temporarily in a country or region and who do not belong to the resident population. Examples are tourists, day-trippers. The value can be calculated over the whole of the year as well as for the winter period (October to April) and the summer period (April to October). The number should be calculated by dividing the number of overnight stays by the relevant number of days.
