Definition: Costs associated with the transfer of ownership of non-produced assets

National accounts

Costs associated with the transfer of ownership of non-produced assets refer to acquisitions of land and non-produced intangible assets (such as patented assets, production rights etc.) by agricultural units. These acquisitions of non-produced assets are not recorded as gross fixed capital formation (but under another heading of the capital account, because they are non-produced assets) and only the costs associated with the transfer of ownership are recorded as GFCF (for the acquirer, but not for the seller).
