Definition: Basis 1

Labour market

Basis 1 supported the calculation of hourly earnings, and was strongly recommended because of its fuller coverage of the sample. This was the basis for calculation of hourly earnings according to Model B (paid hours). However, in some countries, employers have reported difficulties with measurement of short unpaid absences.
